WE MOVED TO

www.jacquesrenezammit.com/jaccuse

On 10th March 2005 (8.25 pm) the first edition of J’accuse appeared on the internet. It was entitled “the Kinnie Generation” and was a trip into the unknown. Over two years J’accuse has garnered a little corner of faithful readers, interested observers and its fair share of critics. We look forard to many more years of blogging and hopefully increasing the role of blogging in Malta.

Today, Saturday 10th March 2007, on the occasion of it’s second anniversary this blog is moving. No further content will be posted on the blogger version of J’accuse (http://akkuza.blogspot.com). All new content will now be added on the WordPress version(https://jaccuse.wordpress.com).

We thank you for
the over 100,000 visits since inception and hope that you will be moving with us to our new home. Do not forget to update your aggregators or subscribe by email to the new j’accuse address in the new site here.

Today, Tuesday 10th March 2009, on the occasion of it’s fourth anniversary J’accuse is moving again. The new version is hosted on our own domain http://www.jacquesrenezammit.com/jaccuse although if you look at the engine that is running it you will notice that the cogs and wheels are still wordpress. Nothing has changed contentwise… the same old formula will keep your curious taste buds titillating for some time yet!

You’ve come a long way baby!

Thank you.

Almost There

The move happened before the official date and that is because we did not have time to go on test-driving AND adding the posts on this side. In case you are still not savvy with the latest developments Chez J’accuse, tomorrow marks THE day for THE shift when this site, like the one before it, goes into permafreeze and all new posts and writings will be added to the new J’accuse.

There’s no need to shed tears, no need to rip out your hair. Just update your RSS feed readers, your blog readers and enjoy the trip. Meanwhile, on this side of the blogging world it’s almost time to close shop. This blog site will remain open for archival purposes.

Same Same but Different

Same Same but Different

Same Same but Different

I write this post here even though the statistics that I have in hand show me that the core readers of j’accuse have already made the big shift to the spanking new web page that I keep droning on about. Well, if I do not keep irritating you with reminders to add http://www.jacquesrenezammit.com/jaccuse to your rss feed, who will?

Anyways. Thank you for all the feedback. I can fully sympathise with those of you like Claire Bonello Snr who did not feel at home with the new layout. Believe me when I say that as liberal as we may be we still feel reluctant to get rid of old conventions and shift to the new when it comes to blog layout. Having said that we find that one sentence normally heard in the markets of Bangkok can sum up the new look J’accuse: “Same Same but Different”. Let’s put it in big quotes coz it looks cool:

Same Same but Different.

There. Because the new J’accuse is still a blog. It still has the same sections and the same thinking cap. Navigation around the blog got a little more different. The key to getting around is thinking that the “Categories” part of the blog is being given more prominence and use. J’accuse being the Emporium of Useless and Useful Information that it is we tend to blog about everything under the sun and more and so we thought it would be ingenious to let different readers have direct access to different parts of the blog.

Let your mouse run sensually over the different headings in the title bar and you will see different section menus pop down. Thus techno geeks can zoom straight into Generation Why?, Opinion-philes and nitpickers can scoot straight to Opinion section and of course there is a section dedicated to the Indy articles. Explore the world of different sections at your leisure. If it’s real time updating that you’re after then the latest post is always featured either as the main featured article (the one with the big picture) or to the right of it (the list of three latest posts). The Hot Off the Press section lists posts and photos added with latest coming top.

Complicated? Not at all. The photogallery provides a lovely distraction from all the words and bloggorrhea. Just click on a photo snapped by yourstruly and it will magickally enlarge in your face. Loverly innit? We will also have more videos as they come along.

We are still getting the hang of it. The Bertoons seem to refuse to work in the main Featured Article page (working on that) and we are seriously contemplating advertising (as you can see from our funky promos) in order to subsidise the costs.

One last thing… we know that it is unfair to have a serious Che next to a funky Jesus in the Masthead. We are still on the lookout for a funny Che to keep funky Jesus company…. any suggestions are welcome.

Keep the feedback rolling. We love you all… and don’t forget that you can use the subscribe buttons in the top left corner of the new J’accuse… that’s Same Same but Different.

Not So Organised

Is j’accuse… We are currently on holiday in Maastricht and environs. Due to the limited time available to access the internet only the new j’accuse is being updated (and with limited results at that). For those lasy gits among you who have not yet updated the rss feeder the new address is http://www.jacquesrenezammit.com/jaccuse.

Be there or be a four sided equilateral twodimensional shape.

I aten’t dead

atentdead

It’s incredible how mortified you can feel when you have not blogged for days. Especially when the only “blog posts” you seem to be putting up are actually articles written for a newspaper (not that there is anything wrong with them). Soon you begin to worry that your status of blogger is in peril and that you will be joining the legions of false bloggers that have long settled among us in the ether. Far be it from J’accuse than to transform into another “blogtime” event… we aten’t dead… we’ve just been generally busy privately and busy bloggingly. Privately aten’t much of yer business but bloggingly you all know the score. The date approaches as inevitably as a fly approaches a pile of turds and we are almost (I DID say almost) ready with the new J’accuse look. The new site has already gone through three versions and I am rather happy with this last newspapery feel. So. To sum up. We aten’t dead. We are just temporarily otherwise occupied. Which is also good for those who normally suffer from the lash of J’accuse. Check out the new slate look here: www.jacquesrenezammit.com/jaccuse. Meanwhile no prizes for guessing which literary genius provided the inspiration for this blog post title.
